Adjusting to fighting fatalism and creating change
Fighting fatalism is important because choices become more evident. With choice comes change. The ability to create change is a powerful thing and necessary for recovery. The ability to create change defies fatalistic views that there is no free will or that things will never improve. Change starts with a thought and ends with actions. Taking actions that are aimed toward recovery or stabilizing a mental illness provides small successes that provide the foundation for big changes and long-term success. Everyone can get better and be whatever normal and happy means to them.
