At Adjustment Guidance, we use a talk therapy approach grounded in Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) and supported by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you experience more good days than bad.
Since 2007, we have helped individuals and couples across Japan navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and career difficulties.
The foundation of our work is talk therapy. In a safe, supportive environment, we explore your experiences, emotions, relationships, and current circumstances to better understand the patterns contributing to your difficulties. This insight-oriented process helps clarify what is holding you back and where change is needed.
Once those patterns become clearer, CBT provides practical tools for change. It helps identify unhelpful ways of thinking and responding to situations, while teaching skills that can reduce distress, improve coping, and support progress in everyday life.
CFT adds another important dimension to this work. Many people struggle not only with difficult thoughts and emotions but also with harsh self-criticism. CFT helps cultivate a more compassionate relationship with yourself, teaching you to respond to setbacks, mistakes, and emotional pain with the same understanding and kindness you would offer a trusted friend.
Together, these approaches create a personalized framework for growth and healing. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of your experiences, develop practical skills for managing challenges, and learn to approach yourself with greater clarity, resilience, and compassion. Rather than a one-size-fits-all solution, therapy is tailored to your unique circumstances and goals.
