Feeling Hopeless?

If you are feeling hopeless, I promise you this is not your forever. I promise that you are more powerful than you know. When we are feeling hopeless, it is easy to forget how powerful we are. We all have pockets of amazing awesomeness, and tapping into what makes us special can help us persevere as we change the trajectory of our life. Knowing you can change your life is key to knowing that this is not your forever. Owning that you are struggling to feel hope allows you the ability to unpack what is creating the illusion that there is no hope that change can happen. Whatever it is, I promise that it is a lie. As long as we are alive, we have the ability to change. Whatever life events have led you to believe that you are stuck in a place of darkness, they are not telling you the truth.

I know my point of view might seem naive, but I can tell you in my lived experience that not a single person I have worked with or have known has ever truly been in a place that cannot ever improve. I also understand that the process of change can feel overwhelming and impossible when you are already feeling hopeless and emotionally drained. I also understand that we cannot force change on the people in our life. The only person we can control is ourselves. I will be honest and say that it is going to be a difficult process and that you will need to endure a bit longer. In my experience, most people need about 6 months to change their life. It is truly rare that anyone needs more than 6 months to change their life or see evidence that the course of their life has changed.

The process starts with the decision to change. If you are struggling to know where to go from where you are, seek help. Asking for help takes courage. Not having the hope and resilience you need to decide where to start when you are already feeling hopeless makes sense. If you want to try and make the changes necessary to create hope, start with your morning routine. Do something that lets you know you are worthy of love every day and build that into your morning. If mornings are too rushed, then try to do something in the evening or afternoon. Pick a time of day that can be consistent. Building in an act of self-love every day will be a clear indicator that there is room for hope and that you can take back control of your life. Self-love is a hope creator, and you are worthy of love and hope.
