Burnout

Burnout can develop gradually or appear suddenly, leaving you feeling emotionally, physically, and mentally exhausted. Over time, it can affect your motivation, concentration, and sense of connection to your work, relationships, and the activities you once enjoyed. When burnout reaches this point, it can be difficult to step back and recognize what needs to change.

I am Kisstopher Musick, PhD, lead therapist at Adjustment Guidance. I provide a supportive space where you can better understand the factors contributing to your burnout and identify meaningful, realistic ways forward. Together, we will explore the demands, expectations, and patterns that may be keeping you stuck, at a pace that feels manageable and grounded.

Our work begins with talk therapy, helping us understand the origins of your burnout and how it is affecting different areas of your life. As these patterns become clearer, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) provides practical tools for setting healthier boundaries, reducing overwhelm, and restoring a greater sense of balance and control. Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) complements this process by addressing the self-criticism, perfectionism, and pressure that often fuel chronic overwork. By developing a more compassionate relationship with yourself, you can reduce emotional exhaustion, strengthen resilience, and create more sustainable ways of living and working.

You do not have to work through burnout on your own. Change is possible, even when things feel overwhelming. If you feel ready, I invite you to reach out by email or schedule an initial Zoom session.
