Anxiety Adjustment

Anxiety can feel overwhelming, exhausting, and difficult to understand. It may appear suddenly or build gradually over time, leaving you feeling on edge, out of control, or stuck in cycles of worry and self-doubt. Anxiety affects not only how you think, but also how you feel, relate to others, and move through daily life.

I am Kisstopher Musick, PhD,  lead therapist at Adjustment Guidance. I help clients better understand their anxiety and develop practical ways to feel more grounded and at ease.

Our work begins with talk therapy, providing a calm, supportive space where you can speak openly and explore the experiences, thoughts, and circumstances contributing to your anxiety. As patterns become clearer, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps identify and challenge unhelpful thinking while developing practical strategies for staying engaged in life, even when anxiety is present.

Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) complements CBT by helping calm the brain’s threat-detection system and reduce the self-criticism that often accompanies anxiety. Rather than responding to difficult thoughts and feelings with frustration or shame, you’ll learn to approach yourself with greater understanding, self-compassion, and a sense of safety.

By combining talk therapy, CBT, and CFT, therapy becomes both insightful and practical. Together, we will work at a pace that feels manageable, helping you build confidence, resilience, and the skills needed to navigate life’s challenges more effectively.

Even if things feel difficult right now, change is possible. You do not have to face anxiety alone. If you feel ready, I invite you to reach out by email or schedule an initial Zoom session.
